Commuter trains aren't supposed to be affected by the CP Rail freight service strike, but there is a snag. The passenger train that runs between Ottawa and Toronto runs on C-P rails so, if you're boarding or exiting in Ottawa, Fallowfield or Smiths Falls you'll be hopping on a bus to Brockville. The infrastructure between Brockville and Toronto is owned by CN Rail which has a separate deal with VIA.
