According to the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse, when it comes to drinking, a hangover is the least of your problems. The number of drinks you consume has both short-term and long-term effects on your health. Remember to eat if you are consuming alcohol, and limit your drinks to two every three hours. Women shouldn't have more than three drinks per occasion, or a total of ten per week. Men can have up to four drinks on one occasion, with no more than fifteen per week.
